Erin Webb joined Kay Casto & Chaney in 2008 and became a member of the firm in 2016. Her primary practice areas include litigation, insurance defense, and employment law.

Ms. Webb leads the firm’s employment law practice, regularly defending employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage payment, and wage and hour matters before the West Virginia Human Rights Commission, the EEOC, and in state and federal court. Outside of litigation, Ms. Webb counsels clients to ensure their employment practices are consistent with applicable laws, including providing assistance with Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, disability accommodation, disciplinary issues, performance management, wage and hour compliance, policy implementation, review, and enforcement, and more.

Within her insurance defense practice, Ms. Webb regularly reviews and analyzes insurance policies from a coverage perspective, as well as stays abreast of West Virginia statutory and common law, which impacts coverage determinations and governs claims handling. She has experience providing insurance coverage opinions for insurance companies and has successfully served as coverage counsel in declaratory judgment actions.

Ms. Webb is recognized by The Best Lawyers in America as being a leader in her field, year after year. In the 2026 edition, Ms. Webb was recognized by her peers as “Lawyer of the Year” in the category of Labor and Employment Litigation (Defendants). She is also honored for her work in the areas of Litigation (Insurance), Litigation (Labor and Employment), and Personal Injury Litigation (Defendants).

Ms. Webb is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, as well as the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. She is a member of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia (serving as co-Chair of its Employment Law Committee) and the Monongalia County Bar Association.

In 2004, she graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She received the Kappa Tau Alpha “Top Scholar Award” in journalism and the “Top Scholar Award” in public relations. In 2008, Ms. Webb received her J.D. from West Virginia University’s College of Law. While in law school, she was member of the Moot Court Board, national team member; Moot Court Baker Cup, best oralist; and inducted into the Order of the Coif and Order of Barristers.
