Anna Falkner Ballard is an attorney with more than 20 years of legal experience, focusing her practice on labor and employment law and civil litigation. She has represented employers in employment litigation and administrative proceedings and has extensive experience counseling businesses on employment-related matters, including compliance, policies, contracts, and workplace issues.
Prior to joining Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC, Ballard served as Senior Corporate Counsel for Employment Litigation and Human Resources at Gabriel Brothers, Inc., where she handled employment litigation, human resources counseling, settlement negotiations, administrative proceedings, and employment-policy development. Her previous private-practice experience includes complex civil litigation involving construction, nursing home, automobile, and employment matters.
Ballard also brings significant federal judicial experience to her practice, having served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth B. Kramer of the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and to United States Magistrate Judge R. Clarke VanDervort of the Southern District of West Virginia.
She earned her J.D. with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and her B.A. in Political Science with Honors, magna cum laude, from the University of Arkansas.
