Matthew Elshiaty Elected to DTCWV Board of Governors

CHARLESTON – Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC has announced that Matthew D. Elshiaty, an attorney in the firm’s Morgantown office, has been elected to the Board of Governors of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.

Elshiaty will serve a three-year term on the Board of Governors, which is the leadership arm of the organization. The Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia’s goal is to bring together attorneys who defend individuals and corporations in civil litigation for the purpose of elevating the standards of West Virginia trial practice, supporting and advocating for the improvement of the adversary system of jurisprudence, and increasing the quality of services rendered by the legal profession to the citizens of West Virginia.

At Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC, Eshiaty represents businesses and individuals in transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters. He is a member of the firm’s litigation and commercial law practice areas, with an emphasis on insurance defense. He is a graduate of West Virginia University (2009), and the West Virginia University College of Law (2014), which led to a judicial clerkship at the Monongalia County Circuit Court under the direction of the Honorable Russell M. Clawges.

Elshiaty has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by the editors of West Virginia Super Lawyers in the practice area of Corporate Law.
