Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC Welcomes Natalie Bowman to Charleston Office

CHARLESTON, WV (September 1, 2026) — Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC is pleased to announce that Natalie Bowman has joined the firm as an attorney in its Charleston office and will practice in the area of general litigation.

Bowman joins Kay Casto & Chaney after serving as an Assistant Public Defender with the Kanawha County Public Defender’s Office, where she represented clients in Magistrate Court and managed a substantial criminal caseload. During her time as an Assistant Public Defender, she handled approximately 200 active clients at a time and closed approximately 700 cases through dismissals, pre-trial diversions, and plea agreements.

Her experience included daily appearances in Magistrate Court for bond hearings, motions hearings, and bench trials, as well as appearances in Circuit Court and Family Court. She also participated as a member of multiple jury trial teams.

While attending West Virginia University College of Law, Bowman served as a student attorney in the Family Law Clinic. In that role, she drafted land-transfer contracts, represented clients in divorce proceedings, negotiated child custody agreements, served as a guardian ad litem for minor children, and represented victims in domestic violence protection order hearings.

Bowman also was a founding member and Vice President of the Criminal Law Society and was a member of Public Interest Advocates. She completed summer internships with the Kanawha County Public Defender during law school.

Bowman earned her Juris Doctor from West Virginia University College of Law in 2024. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the WVU Reed College of Media in 2021, where she was named to the Dean’s List and worked as a reporter for WVU News, an Emmy Award-winning newscast.

She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
