Morgantown, WV (June 1, 2018) — Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC is pleased to announce that Camille E. Wartts has joined the firm as an associate.

At Kay Casto, Mrs. Wartts practices in the areas of general civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance, construction, and labor and employment law.  Before joining the firm’s Morgantown office, Mrs. Wartts served as a law clerk for United States Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi in the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Mrs. Wartts attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She went on to work as a financial analyst in the D.C. Metro area and later transitioned into education, and taught middle school science in the Durham County Public Schools in Durham, North Carolina. Thereafter, Mrs. Wartts earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from West Virginia University College of Law, graduating as a member of the Order of the Barristers.

While in law school, she served in the Clinical Law Program and was an active participant in the Moot Court Board, Lugar Trial Association, Women’s Leadership Counsel, Public Interests Advocates, and the National Black Law Students Association. Mrs. Wartts received various academic honors, including a Pro Bono Distinction and CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Lawyers and Legislation and Appellate Advocacy.

Mrs. Wartts is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
