Charleston, WV (September 1, 2025) — Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC is pleased to announce that Mary Kathryn Kay has joined the firm as an associate attorney in its Charleston office. Ms. Kay brings with her a strong background in appellate and civil litigation, bolstered by her recent clerkship with the Honorable Robert B. King of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

A graduate of West Virginia University College of Law, Ms. Kay served as Executive Editor of the West Virginia Law Review and participated in the United States Supreme Court Clinic, where she advocated for clients before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. She previously worked as a summer associate with Steptoe & Johnson PLLC and Flaherty, Sensabaugh & Bonasso PLLC.

Ms. Kay is admitted to the West Virginia Bar, the Southern District of West Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. At Kay Casto & Chaney, her practice will focus on estates and trusts as well as commercial litigation and transactions.
