Thomas H. EwingA native of Hico, West Virginia, Mr. Ewing is practicing General Civil litigation with the firm's Commercial, Insurance / Litigation and Employment Law practice groups. Mr. Ewing graduated Order of the Coif from West Virginia University College of Law, and graduated summa cum laude in 2001 from Glenville State College with degrees in both History and Education.
Mr. Ewing is a former substitute school teacher in Fayette County. He played Men’s Basketball at Glenville State College and received recognition as the National Association of Basketball Coach’s’ Academic All-American and West Virginia IAC Scholar –Athlete of the Year.
As Executive Research Editor for West Virginia University’s 106th Volume of Law Review, Mr. Ewing authored “Bad Facts, Bad Law: Feliciano v. 7-Eleven, Inc. and Self-Defense As a substantial Public Policy” (106 WVa L. Rev. 781.) Presently, Mr. Ewing is admitted to practice to West Virginia’s Federal Northern and Southern District Courts, he is a member of the West Virginia State Bar, and also a member of the West Virginia State Bar Association.
Nursing Home Negligence and the MPLA written by Mr. Ewing is included in the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia's 2008 annual meeting CD of articles that goes to all attendees and all state, circuit and federal district court judges in West Virginia to use as a resource. In 2006, he co-wrote The Basics of Offers of Judgment in the Fee-Shifting Cases (known as Rule 68) which was also included in the DTCWV's collection of articles.
