Steven L. Thomas

Steven L. Thomas is a member of the firm's Commercial and Health Care Practice Areas. Mr. Thomas engages in commercial litigation including bankruptcy and ERISA. Mr. Thomas represents both creditors and debtors in Chapter 11 proceedings. He is the author of "Due Process In The Age Of Electronic Casefiling" Norton Bankruptcy Law Adviser, April, 2004.

Mr. Thomas graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor's degree in 1980, and became a Certified Public Accountant in West Virginia in 1981. He received his J.D. degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1984. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Thomas served as clerk to the Honorable Ronald G. Pearson, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of West Virginia from 1985 to 1987. He is admitted to practice in all West Virginia courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Thomas provides Pro Se bankruptcy lectures for the Charleston Legal Aid Society. Additionally, he is a board member for Friendship Force of West Virginia.
