Stephen A. WeberStephen A. Weber is a member of the firm's Employment Law Practice Group. For the past 30 years, his practice has been concentrated in the areas of labor and employment law and commercial litigation. His clients include hospitals, construction companies, trucking companies, and media enterprises. He is a frequent lecturer on labor and employment topics to business and professional groups. He also is a member of the firm's Alternative Dispute Resolution and Commercial Practice Groups.
Mr. Weber received his bachelor's degree from Mount Saint Mary's College in 1962 and earned his J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1966. Mr. Weber also earned an LL.M. degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law in 1969. He served on active duty as a Staff Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force with the rank of Captain.
Mr. Weber is listed in The Best Lawyers In America. He is a board member for Goodwill Industries of the Kanawha Valley, Inc. and Kanawha-Charleston Board of Health. Additionally, he serves as president and board member for the Kanawha Dental Health Council, Inc. In 2007, Weber received the Mario Palumbo Ethics Award.
Among Mr. Weber's achievements include being listed in the 2009 West Virginia Super Lawyers for Employment and Labor and being among those recognized by the 2010 Chambers USA - The Clients Guide of American’s Leading Lawyers for Business. In the area of Labor and Employment, the 2010 Chambers Guide regarded Mr. Weber as having, "quick mind and uncommon knowledge of the law, which puts employees at ease when they're scared and gets terrific results."
