Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC became a professional limited liability company on January 1, 1999. Our firm was created on September 1, 1989 with the merger of two of the most established law firms in Charleston, West Virginia. Kay, Casto & Chaney was founded in 1923 and adopted its firm name in 1952. Love, Wise & Woodroe had its origin in firms which were created in the 19th century. The merger was especially advantageous in that the predecessor firms had each established separate reputations in the West Virginia legal community -- Kay, Casto & Chaney as a firm emphasizing litigation, and Love, Wise & Woodroe as primarily a corporate and commercial law firm.
