Charleston, W.Va. (January 2, 2018) — Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC is pleased to announce that Charles W. Pace, Jr. has been promoted to Member of the firm.

C.W. Pace practices in the firm’s commercial law group. Mr. Pace focuses on assisting clients with estate planning, trust and estate administration, wealth preservation strategies, special needs planning, elder law issues, and taxation. Mr. Pace devotes a significant portion of his practice to assisting clients with business entity formation, general business entity advice, and business transactions. His practice also extends into the areas of trust and estate litigation and commercial litigation.

Before joining Kay Casto & Chaney, Mr. Pace worked for nearly a decade with a major regional wealth management organization where he managed a diverse book of trust and fiduciary relationships. While with the wealth management firm, Mr. Pace routinely guided high net worth clients through a wide variety of estate planning, wealth transfer planning, trust planning, asset preservation, and business succession issues. Prior to that, Mr. Pace began his legal practice as an associate attorney at Allen, Guthrie, McHugh & Thomas in Charleston, West Virginia, focusing in the areas of general business entity law, estate and trusts, and civil litigation.

Mr. Pace received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the West Virginia University College of Law (1999). During law school, Mr. Pace served as a member of Law Review and was named an Issue Editor. Prior to law school, Mr. Pace graduated with honors from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (1996).

Mr. Pace is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, as well as the Supreme Court of Appeals for West Virginia.
